How'd it go today?

Guess you are a lot bigger standing up than you look sitting in a truck, Jim.

Reminds me of a story...riding with my Uncle Zeke and waiting at a stop light. As it turns green, right away the car behind him lays on the horn...so Zeke (being the smart-alec he is) puts his car in park, and gets out...walks back to the other car and commences to visit along the lines of "Hi! i thought you were someone I knew that wanted to say hello.."

He continues his ramble until the light turns red again and heads back to the car... so we wait through another red light...

When he got back into the car he told me he was shakin' in his boots when he got back to the other car....Dude driving looked like Rosie Grier packed into a VW.

Today was just weird. 105' Fir growing inside one of the most beautiful Big Leaf Maples I've ever seen. Happens all the time in the woods. Landscape Architects left it because they thought it was beautiful. So did I... before I killed it.

Me: "O.k... Exactly WHY? are we removing it??"
Company Arborist: "Uhhh..."
Me: "Oh, man.... Aright..."

That's Good Aaron raking up the last of the aftermath.

Not at all Gary... not a limb for 60'. I took one whorl of limbs off and just busted a 40' top with a single wedge... most of the limb weight was toward the fall.

The technical, fact-based answer to your question of "why" is "just cuz."

Nice Jed! A tangled mess was my gig also today full of vine. Tree fail pulled them all out over the fence. Cleaned a 6ft swath blew it back over the fence;)
Pulled a burl from a China berry casualty and managed to keep the bottom 6 inches of pants dry, thanks to my boots.
No it didn't rain yet!
Done but the fluff I won't run through the chipper.

Took down 11 more pines on this place. Looked at a 35 tree removal tonight. More pines to td tomorrow. The second die off begins. It's a life.

Looks like you're enjoying it though.8)

Good job today, remove three mango trees because of the mess they make and the bats eat the fruit. Put my tree hugger cap on and talked her into keeping the third one, just reduced it a bit.

Nice to leave a bit of green around when I can.

 Thanks Peter. Needed that, after today... View pruning small trees on the Puget Sound :whine: Rained all day, and the "view" we availed was little better than this.

I've been wearing my foot ascender just behind my spur. Hardly notice it there. Today I forgot to take it off till I was leaving work.
I do admire your fabrication though

Levi marked all the logs for bucking. He did a great job in the mess. Tough for a little guy to walk around in the slash.
