Feels weird posting these, a little too self serving? didn't seemed like it would fit in those other threads, you guys cutting trees and all. I'm friggin trying to produce promotional videos to get people to buy my product. set up, camera man, operator, confuzer input and editing .. . . . anywhoo this is the stuff I deal with on top of developing revising, assembling, accounting, selling, warehousing, tradeshows, mag ads, internet. . . . these products. :whine::whine:
Working on a new website and the marketing s__t is wearing on me. I hate being a pushy Sales guy:?:?. Sometimes I just want to kill ash trees:evil:. sales are pretty slow now. . . so I keep trying to do this on my own, wish GB lived in MN (wait a Minute wish I lived in CA) the stuff he did for me is first class, now my stuff has changed enough that I think I need new videos.

Blah blah blah . . . . so the ?? is, are these videos to bush league and would negatively effect your buying decision, does it taint your opinion of Branch Manager  . . . . Open to you guy's opinions on these, I think I can take . . . .it I really respect all your experiences

Stump grinder Video 5.5 minutes long

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.yutube.com/v/yowFzChQW6A?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yowFzChQW6A?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Rake video

At about 3:338 you can see a wire going from the fuel tank to the motor getting pulled tight as the operator swings the head to the left. IMO something like that would survive about 3 months in real world use. Looks like the wire is rubbing up and down on the motor as the head swings back and forth. Can you add a keeper to hold the wire in one spot and keep it from rubbing?

I like the raking video as well.

The 38 special video makes me want one! But I think it's too long, and I would certainly edit out the two times the large machine stalled the wheel! The rake video was great!

On another note, would it be more feasible to make the one for the large machines hydraulically operated? Eliminates another engine to maintain and those machines should have more than enough hydraulic power to run it?

No Andy, the machines don't have enough hydraulic power to run a stump grinder efficiently. There are already many brands of stump grinder attachments available and they all suck, except for this one.

Dave, I am very impressed with how big a bite that stumper can take! Seemed like a pretty decent vid, didn't turn me off in the least.
The rake video was hard to read the white font part of the time, maybe a font color change

I try to keep my average video to ~90 seconds or less.

Definately edit out any mishaps, like the stalling wheel. I'd make the times on the pictures shorter, and edit out when the camera man moves/shakes the camera. I plan to get a fancy camera soon, and fancy editing software that will allow more flexibility than WMM.

Multiple short videos are generally better than just one longer video. You can still have a long one, but have several shorter ones to keep the folks interested.

Here's the first video I made of grinding, I was so happy the damn thing was back up and running after replacing $1200 in engine parts and having it down for 6+ months.
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Jl2jgb1XBj8?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Jl2jgb1XBj8?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Here's the second grinding video I made.
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hsCBuL1RA2M?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hsCBuL1RA2M?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Here's my latest video, minimal editing and it says it's full length for those who wanted to watch such awesomeness.
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lhm_XQRMV_M?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lhm_XQRMV_M?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Watching videos of stump grinding is almost as exiting as watching paint dry:lol:

Both of those bottom 2 vids were $75 each. I'd watch the hell outta some paint drying for that kinda money. ;)

Dave, sorry to hear you are slow. I hear you on the wearing all the hats bit, it is tough. Ive been so busy with trees this year that I have kinda forgot about marketing the Wraptor, really need to get on that again.. I agree with keeping the vids short, any way to throw in a hottie or 2  I dont think the videos will hurt your business, IMO the more you get out there the better.....

I like seeing promotional videos where the sound of the engine is not being over taken or replaced with music. You can really learn a lot about the product.

They look like they rip, pretty impressive. Shits on the Vermeer 252 I used to have, and looks comparable to the 630b Vermeer my stump guy uses. Hell of a bite on some of those stumps.

Are you going to PA?

It's certainly got my attention. I hated the 252 because I had to tow the trailer around. With the 38 I can get 10' long 5klb ramps and put it in the back of the truck.

The guy I work for PT subs out his stumps, I can take my truck to work and bang those out afterwards.

Brian - good eyes, funny you said that, thats the remote start cord and it kept killing the eng when it pulled the connector out. I left the killed part in cuz I thought everybody kills it once and a while, I wanted to show it would start again (after you plug the connector back together) :|:
Think I have it fixed like you suggested, I liked cleaning that mess in my pasture in 15 minutes.
Andy I think Skid Steers with Hi- Flo can run a Hydraulic driven head Ok, never met anybody who's ran one and one like Carls Stump eatin mother.
I'm impressed with RG85.
Willie the Alpine takes a hell of a bite out of a stump for a chainsaw + you can get it to stumps no wheeled machine can get to and get her done, when you sell one of those inaccessible stumps get premium $$s for it.
Stig, yeah stumping is pretty boring I agree watching a vid of it is worse, raking is no thriller either.
Pete is your Wife an operator?:/:
Mike glad to here ole #3 is still making money
Brendon . . Thomas's look really really good with a 38 special on the front of them;) :D :) Yeah I bee in PA

I am editing with Windows live movie, it was free, its easy but not very flexible

Thanks you guys, very cool to get your input -
shorter, take the kill section out, maybe a shot of the controller starting it first
Some Narration would be better than the text i think.
I really love Gers voice, he sounds so professional 8) . . . he could do radio

Dave,

Is there any device to push the grindings back into the hole without changing attachments? Maybe a receiver hitch where you can slide in a push blade?

For some reason I think I recall mentioning of a blade, but not sure if it was just in my head.
