How many volts???

We had a shared transformer with the neighbor. They had repaved the road so many times that the triplex coming from the transformer to my house was under 12 feet crossing the road. A tractor trailer tore it down and ripped the pole guy stake out of the ground. They put the triplex back up and roped the pole to a sapling for a guy. I figured they would back the next day to fix it right. After a few days I called to ask when they were coming back to fix it. They did come out and guyed it right but it was still under 12 of height. I had to call and bitch to get them to put a new pole in so they could get some more height.
Worse than that was the time the old wood thread insulator on the high voltage cross arm pulled out where it went around the corner. I must have just missed walking into it at night hanging over the road.

Calling them was my advice to her. Also made a call myself and forwarded the picture to a receptionist I'm sure they will take care of it before long ;)

Some old line school manual pix i copied 1 day:
(The more expensive device, placement, the more amps/volts)
.
Not so nice electric burns:
.
bang-pop 1/1000th of a second!!
.
Story is after high voltage took most it could, it also boiled sweat glands out, and when power outqage in 2003 died from overheated/body couldn't cool..

Yowsa for sure.

I can't believe how many miles of powerlines I've trimmed over the years with ZERO training.

Amazing I'm still here...

frig yea, many times.

One time, it knocked the saw outta my hand and my arm was sore for a week.

The tip just barely brushed the line...

I don't miss line clearance.
Been out of it too long to remember much of what I knew.
Good thread.

If you don't plan on having kids,
you mite go for hey, it is only the difference in charges that gives impact, just like speed
so let's raise my body voltage and gasoline powered 'copter to line voltage and go out and play with the power lines;
so now are neutral to line w/o ground connection..
