Helmet Mounted Ear Protection

We wear forestry helmets, the whole time on the job except rake up. Has the ear muffs on it, plus tue face shield.

Husky hygiene kits have a dense green foam that's better at blocking noise than the 3M muffs came with. I swapped them out.

I wear the optime II on my helmet. The III are difficult to hold a conversation in - I think some communication is necessary & If you can't you are more likely to remove the muff more often.
Ear plugs don't seem to give me the same protection & I lost one a couple of times whilst climbing. Took it out to communicate & oops butter fingers

Are the II's 101 db or is that the III's? I had a hard time finding it on the website.

Both 105+ but the red ones are really quiet. http://www.protectoralsafe.com.au/search?q=peltor

I also have Bilson 728/series 700 on a hard hat, [just went out in the cold & dark to get that]:coldcold: Seems they are not making that model anymore, they are good.

Look like these, and were 105+ as well. http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/product_pages/View_Catalog_Page.asp?mi=3426
