What sort of wood is that? you said nothing on it.
If it's brittle, I wouldn't take the chance to upright it. The house with the green roof will loose its roof's corner.
With a good enough hinge wood, why not.
I'll go with the grain. For me, it's easier to visualize the path during the fall with a slanted hinge than over aiming a horizontal hinge to compensate the side lean. But that's me.
The banana shape of the trunk is dangerous for the house though. It will roll / jump to the right when it'll hit the ground.
It's hard to know from the pics what amount of the stump is outside the gap between the houses. I would try to lay it down parallel to the fence. A little more risky with the top near the fence, but safer for the house.
Second point, I'll bore some deep and wide partial cuts in the banana in order to kill the spring in the wood during its landing. It will fall in pieces instead of jumping like a wild horse.
