I would like to thank Frans, Willie, Greg and Paul for a very enjoyable day in a redwood. We went along the Eel River at Redwoods River Resort and got up around 175' in a very enjoyable tree. I will try to attach a photo of which one it was for those of you familiar with the area. We were on about the same level as the new bridge over the river.

This was a very good experience for an old man to celebrate his 62nd birthday a couple of weeks late. I had very knowledgeable co-climbers and they helped me learn a new technique and look like an old pro.

Once again, many thanks fellows.

Bob

Good for you Bob, glad you got the chance to do that with such pleasant company.

Good deal, Bob. You certainly had the right guys to help get it done. That is a beautiful area...the river is a great complement to the trees. Congratulations on such a great way to celebrate a birthday.

Twas fun to meet Bob, a very competent climber. More pics tomorow as I just got home

Way to go, guys.

When Bob first posted this request I was sure that someone would step up to help him out. I am quite impressed how often this is done; tree guys taking time out to help other tree guys.

Bob, big trees are worth the effort, eh?

Dave

As I said, an excellent time. I was dead tired after I got back to the cabin, but I was not at all stiff the next day, as i though i would be. Must have been the great training from Greg and Frans on the ascending technique.

I would also like to thank those who recommended the Samoa Cookhouse. Had supper there tonight and the pot roast was great. Definitely worth the stop. I am in Klamath tonight, may take the jet boat ride up the river in the morning. Probably near Crater Lake tomorrow.

Dang, Bob, you got up in the tippy tops of your tree...very cool stuff. Excellent pictures and video...good show Willie.

You guys all did good....hoorah!!
