Lovely! They also used the beautiful Redwood for studding. I tore apart a house in Watsonville that was made that way. Fine looking material that was hidden in the walls.
That certainly is a rich color that the wood has turned at the motel. Wonder what they finished it with? I don't think that Redwood normally gets thought of for interior paneling, but it certainly is attractive when it's Redwood like that.
Then, is it worth more as an object of interest, or for the material? Perhaps you could chunk it and helicopter it out, with no damage to the environment. Maybe not worth the time and expense.
It's a beautiful photo, and the way the girl has her hand on the tree tenderly like, it reminded me of the gals that get hitched to buildings, so why not a tree?
