You run a new 201 Cory?

Yah, my 200's, even the oldest ones, could all hold the 201 down and force it to eat grass no problem.

Makes sense it would be a low side tweek as the throttle response sucks on my 201.

I meant in the tuning difference between the old and newer 201's. If the bulletin was to just turn them up some more. Or if there was more to it.

    MS201T

So the 'tune' is just to lean it out more?

    MS201T

So does anyone know what was changed between the early and the current 201s? That's what I'm wondering about.

Mines a pig. I've heard the newer ones are improved somehow and aren't as bad. I wonder if anyone else has heard or knows of any truth to this?

I hope it may come back up here(the 200t), we have 440's back up here now. Brand new on the dealer shelf.

Yah it's all assembled just minus the bar. I now do the pre-run and assembly myself ever since the bar and chain fell off one of the 200t's I recently bought at about 25' up taking a top out of a birch tree. The dealer told me I should be double checking that before running. I told them if I...

Yes they do. Should be no sweat to the shop if you want it in the box still.

I've got one in the box still too. A 200 that is. It's a nice feeling of security, lol.

Mine still runs ok, but I prefer the 200 and still feel it has more power.

Yes most all saws(my Stihls atleast) have that winter/summer shutter. I've done a bunch of trimming and a few removals with it now and I'm still not impressed myself. Everytime I think I'm feeling that increased torque I lay it into some biggish woods while chunking down a spar and it's just...

Update for me on my 201 it's been running ok, mine's no 200t though that's for sure. It takes forever to warm up in the winter here it seems, espescially if you're not running it steady. Once warmed up it's an ok starter no better than my 200's one pull does it. The hesitation I described...

I don't see it's use climbing or cutting from a bucket imo. I move from a tophandle to a much larger saw. On the ground? I can't see myself grabbing it. I never use a tophandle on the ground and always run a bigger saw than that.

    MS201T

Bucket? I'd think it'd be alot harder to cut and chuck with a rearhandle than a tophandle? Much to small for a groundsaw for me anyways.

    MS201T

Oh I've had the carb in my hand, when I put the new handle on, I had all the little bits apart. I'll have to look again, I didn't notice anything on the high jet and was wondering what the dealio was. I'll check it out. Thanks.

I have messed with the carb a bit. Definetly a bit of hesitation that can be tuned out a bit, but I have heard too that it's a by-product of these strato engines? Had you mentioned something about a highspeed stop/limiter thing? If so how'd you bypass it?

I step from a tophandle to a 361 or 460 both of which are modded, and are incredibly faster than stock and are proving to be very durable. Modded saws rule for work imo. Never felt the need with the 200t to do anything other than pull the screen.

Really? Sorry I missed where it was a race. I've already mentioned atleast a couple of times that possibly I have a dud, I only have one 201. Imo it does not run strong, pulling the spark arrestor did next to nothing for mine. I'm glad you're happy with yours and really hope that mine is...
