No, I don't have a bad word to say about Andy! He helped me out a lot, same with THall, but they both got burned out with PM's about stupid shit! I'd heard he was doing well in other interest, I'm glad to hear its true! IMO Brad isn't any better a hack than I am, gets the principles, but not the...

I think Brad is a bunch of hot air running off steam he learned from Lakside, but that is my opinion.

In my instance, a rarity for sure, it makes sense for me to run a modded saw. I get the same power a bigger saw can provide, in a size and weight I can manage more easily. I'm not a pro, but not really a weekend warrior either, I'm not about making cookies, but production times. The less time...

I break them in just like I'm going to use them. If they blow up, well, I wouldn't have liked the damn thing anyway!

It's about placement Al, not fuel. It's the same as doing a muffler mod on a 192t, when you make the hole where it needs to be it burns the plastic on the cover.

The "pop up" is actually machined removing material around the outside of it to clear the squish band, the allows even higher compression.

But that just measures static or mechanical timing, this is a change in ignition timing. Not sure how it's done on a saw, but I can try to explain it on a car for you. Cars have a form of ignition advance, vacuum, mechanical or electronic. You start with a base timing, typical Chevy V-8 is set...

I agree, he likes to build 346's and put 357 carbs on them, he hates the 5100 because he hasn't figured out how to tune a saw that isn't turning 17k rpm out of the cut, it goes on..............

That video is from bsneling at AS, he fancies himself as a saw guru but wont port a saw with a limited coil, has to put a larger carb on about every saw he wants to hot rod and fiddles with the timing on everything. I'm not a fan, and I take his work with a grain of salt.

Because someone on another forum asked him to weigh it that way.

MEH! I think the weight could have remained the same with some creative thinking, certainly not anything we want in the corporate world for sure, but at some point someone has to forget there is a box!

The 650 isn't the offspring of the 064, it's a poor mans 660, a failed marketing ploy by Stihl, nothing more. The 064 was a beast of a saw, but a shade heavier than an 046 regardless of what the spec sheets say. I've run both side by side with the same bar, I'd take an 064 over my 046. Felling...
