The Stihl chain that it comes with seems fine, to me. I found the other chain model #: 91VXL055G, same as the one above, it is the right #:|: It's good stuff. Good luck with the new saw! If it runs right, nothing better than a new saw!!

I checked 2 of them that are here, one has Stihl chain on it that came with it, and the other I think is 91VXL055G chain from Oregon. The saws run great, same as a 200, just without the nasty snarl we all liked hearing out of our 200s. Edit: Nope, sorry, that chain # is for the full size saws...

Yes I have 3 of them. The old ones you would do what Reg did to his, crush it. The new ones are great saws- no warm up, good power, no surprises.

I agree, they rock. I use 16" too, good stuff.

Yes, my experience is the early ones (like 1-1.5 years ago) were unusable, the newer ones are fine, equal or basically equal to a 200, imo.

I can't find the recent post about the Echo 355t pro climbing saw, but was wondering if they might be a viable alternative to a 201 or 338? I have an old Echo top handle, amazing saw for durability and reliability but just not enough power.

Yeah, right on. People who argue about small performance differences between 200 and 201 have it made! I got a 201 which has never run right, I dropped it off again yesterday at its home away from home, the dealer. Left a new Husky 338 there too- the high end cutting was fine but it just won't...

I'd go with Echo before a 192. They say it takes 8-10 tanks of fuel before the 201 starts to perform decently...methinks they should run in those tanks at the factory, cuz doing it in the field is very unproductive and can result in alot of angst.

I have 2 201s. They were both awful from the start, both got new carbs, one is now OK, the other has a deadly high idle that went from intermittent to full time the other day. Its not actually high idle, its more like 1/3 throttle, lol.

You may have something there, Al. The saw has been out for a long time now, why does Mark give a review now instead of shortly after it's introduction?

It's true what is said about change, the only thing constant is change. Used to be, all I needed to mow down what needed it was an Aerial Lift of CT, a Husky 372, and a 0200. Well, 2 of those three are now extinct, and of course the talk of making the 372 go away has been around for a few years...

Wow, my 2 201s that both had bad carbs replaced and seemed ok thereafter; I used one of them almost exclusively since then and it has been stalling at idle way too much as of the last 4-6 weeks (I know, way too long to put up with that, but I did) Couldnt adjust it out of it. So I used the other...

Mine are 5 or 6 mos. old.

Did you have to pry off caps on the hi/lo to adjust them? That's how mine are, and they take a tiny allen wrench not a carb screwdriver.

Yeah, the plasma cutter and the jumping of the bucket without stealing it too seems odd.

Ha, just yesterday I was thinking of the storage container idea for myself, but your experience makes me lose confidence.:(

Were you able to change anything about your tool/saws security or could the same thing happen again next week?:X
