There was a sighting of a water streak Jesus under a highway overpass coming down the wall. Religious types were gathered there to see it; mostly, it was Mexican Catholics, I believe.
Let her join you along the way when she's got the time. Airports are everywhere. She can fly in and fly out during your trip. Tell her to bring some good reading material unless she really likes watching you work a lot.

The solar shower is a good way to go, and can just add hot water from a camp stove if needed.
