    Acceptable base tie-off for SRT

I raised the question if anyone knew of anyone who has been lowered in a ground rescue back in May in this thread: https://www.masterblasterhome.com/showthread.php?14595-SRT-base-tie-question/page7&highlight=ground+based+rescue

OK, it's early Sun morn and I'm not awake yet. It's just a slip knot! Geez. Here I was getting all wound up to learn a new knot with a fancy name. I use it all the time for a thousand things. Now back to the purpose. Just a stopper, right?

Wow, I like that hitch! Still not clear how it fits into this application. What's the purpose? The GG will be clipped to the trunk-wrapped sling directly. Is it like a collapsable stopper knot back up in case the GG slips?

You mean the hitch like this, and using a biner instead of the tool? Wouldn't it be tough to remove the biner, as opposed to pulling out the spike? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marlinespike_hitch
