thanks again Joel for the technical help ... Obama claimed every nook and holler would have high speed internet ... still waiting ...also maybe Butch would help me out and make one of these my new avatar... not to get all vain , but they are some decent shots ...
...there's nothing in the first one as far as I can tell ... thanks though these are the first pics I've EVER had up at the house ... you can see how handy it was to have a steel pull line in our way ....I'll check with Ted ..maybe have him try again ....
... customer is always right ... he wants to fall the stem himself at a later date .... went out and bought two hundred foot wire rope and some three bolt clamps ... wants it rigged for the pull ... the whole thing leans AWAY from the building , without the top weight I bet you could drop it...
Dial Up kinda sucks ... but it's better than smoke signals or two coffee cans and some twine ....customer sent two E-mails with photos .... one won't even open for me ... the other has three decent pics , sort of lacks scale ... doesn't show the building (s) at all ...I will forward them to Joel...
Got down there early yesterday ... used the GRCS and two blocks (needed a third for two pieces) .... worked all the material over the house before lunch ... ran out of time and steam with a little bit of top left (four more cuts)... probably could have finished if the Homeowner hadn't hogged...
I'm hoping the Home owners will photograph on Sunday .... Last time I was down there we only had a part day ... I cut all the suckers off the log on my way up .... cleaned out the crown some .... set my super high TIP .... removing the very top limbs above that ( I hate going back for them)...
... I will try to to get some photos ... I'm working in the Largest Oak I have ever been in (or seen) ... Red Oak ... at least 165 foot high (I'm tied in at well over a hundred)... decent canopy spread maybe 70 foot .... the log is huge FOUR foot D.B.H. ... I just don't get to work in trees...
