  2. lumberjack

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

Apparently Morse Van Lines has me beat price wise.

I meant the cargo trailer, GG. If they can't stack palletized freight on top/beside it, they (generally) charge full width and height for the trailer (normally 8'x9')

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

Nah, it would get stuck in the front of a pup trailer with another bulkhead added behind it. Even if they were hauling it regular freight (not U-Pack), they would charge you full width and height of the trailer anyways.

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

U-Pack from ABF quote on 14' linear feet of trailer for $6229 door to door, or save $2976 if it's terminal to terminal. Estimated 6 days transit time. The shipping terimial would be in Portland (275 miles) and the recieving would be in Miami (111 miles). Medford to Tallahasse is 2800 miles...

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

Sure, like I said, not my thing to ponder. If it comes or can come with a trailer, provided it's a reasonable weight, I can tow it behind my Civic and get 30+mpg on average. I came across the scales coming back into MS one time weighing 6klbs combined. That wasn't reasonable  but I...

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

 I hauled a pile of Wraptors from VA to Chicago back in July, only 750 miles though. Reloading dude keeps asking me about the shipping costs, fawk if I know dude! 20 gallons of brass, press, bullet feeder, brass cleaning setup, etc etc... haven't a clue! Told him it shouldn't be more...

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

I have a guy in Chino Hills, CA that wants to buy my reloading setup entirely it seems. That'd only add 200 miles to "my" trip, making it a bit over 7k miles. If I handed it off to rskybiz that'd cut about 1200 miles off the trip.
  9. lumberjack

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

All you and your big trucks!
  10. lumberjack

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

I have a U-Ship quote in with ABF (company dad retired from), Willie. www.uship.com might be another source if the timelines/logistics don't work out here.
  11. lumberjack

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

Yeah the timeline for completion would be important. The good ole Civic could make the trip on ~$600 of fuel, but the trip would take a solid 2 weeks unless you were cranking the miles out for profit.
  12. lumberjack

    Oregon to the Florida Keys

~3400 miles between the two cities, ~6800 miles if I went. Doesn't seem like it'd be worth it? Dead heading for half the miles seems expensive.
