    Lets See your Facebook Page!

I have a business FB page, but to be honest it doesn't generate much business. However, from my personal FB page I have subscribed to about a dozen of these yardsale pages, barter pages, buy/sell/trade pages, etc. About once a month I will go to each page and post a picture similar to my...

Ok. I could see where SRT might come in handy on large prune jobs. 95% of my work is total takedowns where I can use Spurs. Spurs, flip line, and Ddrt and I can be at the top of the tree setting my rigging lines before you get your throw line untangled. I could be wrong and I'm not against...

I agree friction savers are a waste of time. Haven't made the jump to SRT yet. i just don't think it would be beneficial for me.

Was it a waste of money because they weren't mechanically sound, or did you just not use them much. Reason I ask is my next big purchase will be a bucket of some type. I'm leaning toward one of those trailer mounted lifts. The ones that you can pull behind your pickup. You can get them into...

I use the one made by Stein. It is smaller than the sidekick. I have broken about 2 of them, but it is so darned handy and not very expensive so I keep buying new ones. It's not something that I can't live without, but find it to be a good purchase. Just wish they made them a little tougher.

It was a 12" chipper. Another tree service was wanting to get rid of it so he let me make payments on it. I made payments for 3 months and quickly found out that it was slowing me down. So I let him have it back. I basically rented if for 3 months. Like I said there are definitely some jobs...

What is the most overrated/underused piece of equipment or gear that you own or have ever owned? Mine is a chipper. There were a couple of jobs that it came in handy, but for the most part I can load the brush in my trailer with my Bobcat in a fraction of the time that it can be chipped. Not...

Need help with my 201T upgrade kit

I think the least we can do is write a letter to Stihl and express our dissatisfaction. Anybody know where one might send said letter?

Need help with my 201T upgrade kit

I paid $600 for my 201. I noticed the other day that the dealer had one on the shelf for $700. I paid $200 for the upgrade kit. So if you got one of the old ones you end up paying $800 or better whereas the same saw is $700 right out of the box....Not cool Stihl....Not cool at all. Not to...

Need help with my 201T upgrade kit

This deal just gets weirder. I took it to my local Stihl dealer yesterday morning. They called me today and told me it was ready and the charge was $41. I asked what was wrong with it and they said that they really didn't know. I asked to speak directly to the mechanic that worked on it. He said...

I disconnected both wires on the coil and still no fire. I guess I'll take it to the shop tomorrow.

Need help with my 201T upgrade kit

Hey thanks for the tips Magnus. I think when I first installed the new parts the coil and magnets were coming into contact with each other. That possibly damaged the new coil, but still doesn't explain why the old one stopped working because it never came in contact with the magnets.

Considering I've now got about $800 in mine and it's not even running that $900 200T doesn't look to bad.

The two wires that attach to the coil are good at the coil. They run into the handle at the switch and I can't see the connection there without taking the handle apart. I haven't done anything in the handle area so I don't see how they would have come loose.

That's what I thought. I just went out and did that and still no fire. That was with the old coil so I put the new coil on and gapped it and still no fire.

I don't think I gapped the coil. I'm not sure what that means, so yeah I'm pretty sure I didn't do that. I'm assuming you are referring to the distance between the coil and flywheel. I didn't know that there was supposed to be a set gap. Now that I think about it though that makes since...

Need help with my 201T upgrade kit

Ok, I got the 201T upgrade kit which consists of a new carburetor, fly wheel, and ignition coil. I installed everything and it wouldn't crank. Checked the plug and it was getting no fire. Installed new plug...still no fire. I put the old coil bag on....no fire. I put the old flywheel back...
