When i knew i had to store the saws they hadn't been run for about a week. I poured the fuel out of the tanks and then started each one and let it idle until it died.
Ive heard similar to what flushcut said.. ie the fuel evaporates and the oil goes hard. I was thinking about a carby kit but it...
Hi All,
Sorry if this is a repeat, i didn't have much luck with the search engine.
For various reasons my saws have been in storage for about two years. Prior to storing them i ran them dry and opened the fuel lid for 24 hours to let the remainder evaporate. About a week ago i fueled up my 346...
After some perseverance my 540 is coming good again. I did a full reset via the software then let it idle for about 20 mins. Without turning it off I them went into blocking down a pine tree. I reckon this was the time the saw came good. It's been 3 weeks now with varying temperatures and no...
That's an odd statement from Stihl considering what they said in the media release paper (post 63 i think).
Either way a mate of mine did the upgrade and i would say that his well worn 201 with a 16" bar would out cut my 346xp no problems
Mine was running well after the dealer upgraded the computer firmware but the last week it's gotten cold. Once it's warm it's ok but once it's cooled a little it's back to being a pig to restart
Just wondering if these saws are known for flooding? We have one of these in my local RFS. The saw doesn't leak fuel at all but when it's choked we pull until it fires then push the choke in and pull until it starts.
Commonly what's happening is the saw will not start but fuel drips out if the...
I have heard of some of the husky autotunes being ported but I'm not able to get my head around if it can produce any gains as the auto tune is always retuneing. Im wondering if a muffler mod is also a pointless because if the autotune
Wondering if anyone has any ideas or pics on how to improve the air filter setup on 660s? I have the standard Australian setup with dual port and a pre filter which is keeping the carb clean but the filter is always heavily covered in chip. It seems that once the saw sucks in the chip to the air...
This morning my mate with the upgrade kit cut through a black iron bark fast enough to give my 346xp a run for its money. He was using semi chisel and it didn't bog down at all
Cheers, I'm happy to reset as I have the software but I'm hoping that this doesn't need to become a regular thing.
It seems strange that the auto tune can't retune properly unless it's had a full reset.
Wondering if anyone has had this with other auto tune saws.
Mines being checked out under...
I prefer huskys and really want the 540 to be good but I would have to say the 201 is far more reliable. The husky 540 is good but the auto tune has a way to go. I can understand a climber only want 201 at the moment. They are simple and work
To be honest i didn't know it already had one. The only reason i thought i would try it is because it fixed by 3120. Interesting comment about the primer as mine has next to nothing in it after a couple of minutes running.
