    NE Ropes Poly Tec

This thread's got a bunch of great info about the core of the regular AP 8 and 10mm, but basically Dyneema/Spectra has no business in a hitch cord, in my opinion.

I'm thinking more as an alternative to buying 8mm ArmorPrus when I'm just going to replace the core with V12 anyway. Also not gonna lie, really want that grey/blue in 8mm.

Anybody else think this looks and sounds a whole heck of a lot like the cover on AP?

    New to the tree house

Just to throw in my $.02, I've been super happy with my sequoia. Light-weight, comfortable, lots of storage options, and a pretty good deal. That being said, I started in a fixed-bridge bosun seat which felt like tying my knees together, and come from the rock world where pretty much anything is...

Thanks guys, seems like a very friendly and knowledgeable group of folks around here. Looking forward to bouncing some ideas around.

    How's the splice today?

I found it works best to measure from A to A and then add a fid to get the length right for the second eye before you cut. Still haven't figured out a good way to remember to put that darn ring on though...

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

Picked up some Imori a couple months ago, love the stuff. Way nicer in the hand than Tachyon, easy to splice, and it's so bright it gave my coworker a migraine.

    How's the splice today?

Randy, any less than 5 full fids between extraction points is pretty much impossible. Possibly naked brummels? Never done em on OP. Build yourself a U-Saver, they're really stinkin cool.

    Splicing X Rings

Nick, any idea how that XRR is working out on the end of a U-Saver? Coworker lost my wichard shackle on a jobsite, and since I want to make a longer body for mine anyway I'm thinking that looks pretty darn sweet. Just curious if it's as functional as it is sexy.

The official "Welcome New Members" thread!

Hey all, been lurking for a while now. Figured its time to jump in. Name's Sam, been doing trees around 4 years. Drag a hose around these days mostly, do ground work and pruning the rest of the year. Just started getting into splicing, picked up a lot of great info here. Hope to learn a lot more.
