I figure it’s been mentioned before, but I was unable to locate. I have a job coming up there I’ll be rigging/pulling/flopping quite a few trees. Most are small/medium. But they’re over the crest of a “cliff”, where I’ll be having to use multiple redirects to get the line back to the Gehl or Boxer. The point nearest the pulling implement will see the most deflection, and I’d like to wrap something around the tree to help prevent chafing/bark damage. Any suggestions as to what I could wrap with?

Oak planking is virtually bulletproof, but time consuming and expensive. Maybe heavy blankets, or something like filtercloth?

I’ll be utilizing a sling/block. But I’ll be pulling several trees from the same point and don’t want the sling to cut into the bark as the first point is on a leave tree.
