The Official Work Pictures Thread

The guy that hacked that tree down apparently ages ago, he gutted the hinge nicely but I wonder if the Dutchman was intentional or not, or perhaps it was unintentional but he spotted it and decided it was inconsequential so he didn't bother correcting it by opening the face

I believe excavators are one of the most important and coolest achievements of mankind. Yes, one of many astounding and important inventions, but critical to daily life as we currently know it.

The pyramids were built without them (somehow), and lots of ridiculously large redwoods were logged sans excavators but we can't live without them these days. The speed and ease they allow astonishing.

One funny thing, they play both sides against the middle- in the mayhem of hatred that is the middle east, half the time they are pictured systematically demolishing perfectly good neighborhoods for Israeli interests and then conversely they are among the first responders to every large building hit by missiles or drones.

They abet some of our strongest instincts of construction as well as destruction.

That thing is a beast. I was amazed how quick he moved the logs to the road. I can work the logs up easily as he moves them for load out...great for a dude who is only 10 weeks after a total knee replacement! The track grousers tear the crap out of the road so we'll have some smoothing to do when we are done.

Did a bunch of stuff at the cabin community in the mntns. Whacked and pruned some small oaks, fire hazard pruning away from roofs, removing mistletoe
. Thanks @Chiselbit and @BIGTWIG for consult.

Guy wanted this cottonwood reduced but I saw a lot of bug and woodpecker damage, some canker looking stuff, mistletoe, and I told him same work to just remove it so down it came. Had to take down the ambiance lighting cables first. Chopped the cable out of the cottonwood with the 4lb estwing fireside friend, like it. Wedged the top out of the tree with it too.

Nylon cutting boards cut down into stacking plates...a la Stig...good stuff. You were out of room, bottoming out, I think.
