.I once tried to race someone felling pines with a bowsaw, and he had an ax. The ax won by a long shot, though in my defence the bowsaw wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. I think Axes are only worth while in soft wood, but I stand to be corrected.That works better than i thought it would honestly, he's knocking out brick sized pieces every few seconds.

I've always found it interesting that hardhats were widespread throughout the industry, long before chainsaws, and just how long the ax has remained a requisite tool.
