Ooops

Wow, reminds me of a elk hunt story told by a relative of mine. He was on an elk hunt out west with a younger hunter on their first elk hunt. He asked if John (my dad's cousin) would shoot a cow or wait for a buck, etc. John had been on several successful elk hunts and would probably take a cow for the meat as he already had a wall mount, but would prefer a buck. As the herd came into the clearing, they were to wait for the guide's go-ahead after determining who was shooting at what. The clearing was a destination for the elk, and there would be plenty of time to place their shots. As the first buck appeared, the kid aimed and started shooting before the guide had a chance to tell him to wait, took 2 or 3 shots to make sure he got it, and the herd dispersed.

John found a local elk farm in ohio and now drives 30 minutes to get his elk meat.
