All but the sound of aluminum rigging implements slapping together and the sound of ropes snapping…😆

Two pieces of metal slapping together under pressure leads me to believe they could nick/scar one another…causing major damage to rigging lines in a big hurry. My friction saver rings are aluminum and I’ve had to file a couple of nicks off them where they land in gravel upon retrieval.

Also ordered a Bend Right rigging ring. I like the concept of it. I spliced up a double ring sling a while back, and while it works, I don’t like the racket of the rings slapping together as they come under load.

Those won’t work in the APTA. Too skinny. The Petzl Jet is my choice for the APTA. Ten ounce normally, 12-oz if it’s a high shot or prickly bark, etc, making it difficult to work the 10 down.

Broke a throw bag last week…got it hung in a tight crotch trying to set a line. Couldn’t pull it on through with the throwline and couldn’t pull it back with the rope. So we hitched it to the BMG and let the Gehl pull it. Tore the ring from the bag. Anywho…Treestuff has their bags on sale this...

What I meant was that you can cut a 3” limb that’s just above your head with about three strokes. They’re wicked.

Handy for any low pruning/cutting. Makes far cleaner cuts than a chainsaw.

What’d that set you back? I bought one a couple years ago at a discount store. They had it marked down to $20. I couldn’t resist.

I bent my first 5’ Logrote can’t hook. Two of us were trying to roll a big log over to finish the cut. Actually didn’t bend it too bad. I contacted Logrite and they sent me a new handle. One of the newer, sturdier ones. I went ahead and ordered a new hook so I have two. The bent one stays in the...

Never heard of a 30”. Always increments of 4”....16”-36”, 18” being the exception. I was gonna say we may need to start a shop pics thread...

Nice shop! I can’t imagine a fireplace and coffee table in the shop! Oh! And Cory...nothing screams “ARBORIST” like using ‘biners for shower curtain rings! 😝

Another possibility...if you’re interested...is moving safes. I carried gun safes for both my sons-in-law from truck to door. All you’d need is forks. Might be a profitable gig. Your average person doesn’t have the means to get one from curb to door.

Did you have the option of narrow tires for 36” gate access? Seems one of the models had that option. I know one of the Giant models did.

I have worked around both types and prefer the BMG hands down. The one you have has it’s advantages though. Just have to cut stuff shorter.

I have on occasion loaded after charging, but there is virtually no danger whirls just starting the bag. Once it’s stuck into the pipe and tamping starts, I squat beside it so I can hold the valve closed with one hand while tamping with the other. Unchecked, the valve could easily creep open...

Yeah. That might compromise the life expectancy of the APTA...not to mention they don’t make a roll of Zing-it long enough to reach Cuba...
