    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

Well this thread took a weird direction. Back on track Big ole pin oak gat the power company has been whacking on forever. The gas company put new lines in and in order to replace the sidewalk and keep with ADA the tree has to go. Originally they wanted the roots ground out on the sidewalk...

It’s got my old bmg grapple till the new bmg grapple comes in. I still prefer it over the Vermeer grapple. I like some features of it but the ease of the bmg trumps those

New as of Wednesday. And this is what it looks like after working in the mud today😡. Going in to wash it tomorrow. Haven’t come up with a name yet. Thing is a beast though.

https://truewerk.com/products/s3-solution-hoodie-hi-vis Ordered this for myself for Christmas. It’s a lot thinner than I would have imagined so I was initially unimpressed for the money. Now I’m officially converted to it and the brand. I love this thing. Still not the warmest to stand around...

Yes I try to use road butter when ever I can. I’ve gone as far as pulling the boots off of the spark plugs on the blowers so the guys would quit cleaning the road so well while working.

Ah yes. I forgot that they changed the drive systems. Mine are almost due again. I get about one season on the prowlers. They are lees than half the cost, usually have them with in two days, and delivered to my door. Gives me a fresh set going into winter and like Flushcut, I can put the old...

Those look to be done. The drive sprocket is probably marking the roads and driveways by now.

Thanks Carl. That’s what I thought it was.

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

I changed mine to pins and replace annually. And agreeing with what Brian is saying, I’m not picking on you at all. I’ve done a lot of sketchy hauling over the years and was trying to make you aware of things to watch. Asking dry or wet because most equipment weights are listed dry , but some...

Keep an eye on that hitch attachment point. Those bolts are known to fail. Also is that 9800#’s the dry weight or the “wet” weight? Just be careful. Trailers aren’t built like they used to be.

Cutting it close on that trailer then. Watch the pot holes for sure.

    What’s that machine weigh?

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

I had the hitch plate and used it to push around the stump grinder. I moved logs and used the root rake grapple on the full size to scrape the area clear of debris and small stumps while Jason was taking the chipper back to get the stumpy.

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

Gonna be a productive day😎. Both the BMG grapple and the root rake grapple have their own machine today. Also have the full size skid loader on-site to shuttle logs from one end of this 12 acre property to the other. Not a bad view for Ohio

I never realized how many small hinge fall onto my toes until I’m not wearing a pair with steel or composite toes. They’ve saved my little piggies on several occasions. Never from anything that would cause severe injury. I’m pretty good at foreseeing those instances and not being in that spot.

I bought one for my wife as well. She loves it. I use it for the same thing the forester does. I walk the trails where we ride atv’s and cut anything that sticks out

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

I have screnches everywhere. Trucks, trailers, chippers, min skid all have at least one hidden. The crane had a small arsenal as well. Mostly because everyone seems to set them there and I pick them up doing my final walk around before leaving the site. I’m never far from one. Anyhow, let us...

I have one of those things sitting in my truck @Mellow I was told to try it out and give some feed back. Told the guy it will go on my dash and probably leave when I clean the truck out. Problem is it’s attached to the pull cord which is gonna fight you as you use it. Also it’s on the wrong...

Finally ordered one. To be completely honest, the thing is great. Swapped packs four times in 11 hours of pretty intense work. Each time was instant relief. Also I wore my arborwear dogwoods for the first time today. So much lighter and cooler than the ironwoods or the stihl sawpants.
