No idea. These lines were installed before the houses. I’m not sure but I believe this is a bare steel line which means it’s been there forever and a day. I’ll ask our inspectors tomorrow about the installation date.

@Treeaddict With those multi stemmed trees I drop perpendicular to the seam if I can. Take out each one individually if needed and then a stump cut. Sometimes I’ll just ream the kerf if I feel it binding up. If the saw is cutting a bit crooked I’ll ream it as well. Helps keep it close to straight.

It’s not easy to get a good level cut with those longer bars. I know the 36” bar I have will bow easily when on a horizontal cut. It doesn’t take but a few ounces of pressure on the saw in the wrong direction and you end up with an ugly cut. Silver maple seems to amplify those cuts. I can’t see...
