    I didn’t put up the view of the back at first as the copper foil doesn’t match the curvature and looks sloppy where it overlaps; - but, I wanted you to see the feet on the bottom of the tray.

    Piece of redwood from a sink cutout in a new counter at the nonprofit outside San Francisco where my son works. Brought it back from a visit there recently. Cut the blank yesterday morning, turned it, carnauba waxed it to keep it close to natural color, boxed, and mailed it back that afternoon.

    I belong to OTI (Ornamental Turner’s Intern.) and SOT (Society of Ornamental Turners)- both groups are all about rose engine lathes. Most RELs are somewhat limited on the size of projects that one can produce on them and quite expensive to build or buy.

    Ed, Urn made from Michigan oak! Love those dovetail joints - shows some real craftsmanship! Something we have in common. I made a double urn for my parents when they died back in 2014. The wood was from a white oak and a black oak I had taken down and milled from their property in Michigan.

    That yew is a beautiful bowl, and I appreciate your eye for, and understanding of the beauty locked within a piece of wood. Many of my distinctive bowls are due to serendipity, but a few are due to my understanding of the way trees grow. I haven't made a pepper grinder yet... will have to try...
