    A quick clip of a decent sycamore I felled the other week - shame about the tearout and decay in the stem as it would have made some nice timber. Quite tall for around here too at 34m (110ftish)

    That was a crazy way of bore cutting that head leaner. Too complicated which increases the chance of error. I really did not like how he formed the hinge - dragging the tip like that is going to cause him trouble some day.

    Messy work - they did not adjust to the new levels of deflection at all quickly. I cringed at the topping off onto the crane - just wrong. Could always top the tree out as usual, and instead of letting it run to the floor, lower it down a little and let the crane pick it.
