I just bought a bottle today, largely cause of this thread. I've seen it around, but wasn't sure how I'd use walnut oil as food. Now, if I never figure it out, I'll know it's good on wood. $8/12.68oz. I think that's a pretty good price.
Sad part is, even that's beyond me :^D With enough practice, I could probably create some passable primitive art, but it still wouldn't have soul, and I'd be so burned out from the process, it would be hard to even look at them.
I wish I could do stuff like that. I'd be super pleased with even a fraction of the detail. I have three old locusts left by the drive, and they all need to be removed sooner than later. Leaving substantial stems and carving them would be really cool.
Dunno. My first inclination is no live edge legs cause it's hard to maintain symmetry, and I think that's a little more important in the base. I'm specifically looking at the sweep that's on each 'leg', but on opposite sides. Hard to say though, and I'm not the best judge of art.
That looks fantastic. Kind of has an art deco thing going with it. Looks like something that would have been installed in a upper end city house, circa 1927.
Looks like it's stacked. Just like doing a Lincoln log house, but with fancier joints. Not sure how you get the joints so perfect, unless it's just as time consuming as it looks.
I like "defective" wood. Makes it interesting, and gives it character. The two I especially like are the bottom left board with the knothole, and the board to the right of it. I like the color of that one.
