    Bird Watching!

Pterodactyls! They look pretty cool when then fly. They also look cool when they perch in trees. Kind of weird seeing such a big bird in the trees.

    Bird Watching!

Huh... I didn't know woodpeckers flocked. I don't think I've seen more than two at a time.

    Bird Watching!

I used to see kestrels a good bit. More than once a year for sure. I saw one perched a couple months ago, but aside from that it's been years. I made a half assed attempt to see if anything happened to them, but everything I saw said 'no problem'. Dunno why they aren't as plentiful as they used...

    Bird Watching!

Kingfishers are cool. I used to see them a good bit when I was paddling all the time, but I don't often see them in my daily travels.

That would be super if there's still some ivory bills left. Like the article said, I've been hearing about possible sightings for a long time, but nothing definitive.

    Bird Watching!

I'd put stakes around killdeer nests on construction sites when they were out of the immediate construction area, but still in danger of getting squished. I don't know if that was the right thing to do or not. I never came back to find a staked nest with chicks in it, but I come and go from...

I love killdeer! They're fun birds. I always try to find the nest when I have some time to kill.

    Bird Watching!

The ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) is a species of hummingbird that generally spends the winter in Central America, Mexico, and Florida, and migrates to Canada and other parts of Eastern North America for the summer to breed. It is by far the most common hummingbird seen east...

I have, once. They're pretty good. I think I probably have some dried out berries in my fridge somewhere. I picked them a couple years ago, and put some in the fridge with the intention of trying to plant from seed, and promptly forgot about them :^D I still want to try it. I'll have to see...

    Bird Watching!

Looks like 10g is the cut off, and maybe don't eat every day. 10g is *a lot* of berries. I'm pretty good after 4 or 6 berries :^D It's just a quick snack when I notice them. It appears they lower blood sugar. That could be interesting for people with (pre)diabetes. Might be worth it for...

Juniper berries are good. Some people cook with them. I just pull a few off and eat them.

    Bird Watching!

It's a really great show. Quirky and strange. Season 3 was a tour de force, and a visual spectacle as never seen on tv, but supremely weird and disturbing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_Peaks_(season_3)

    Bird Watching!

I'm trying to find the owl I got real close to years ago, but time has faded my memory. It was big, and feathered kind of like a great horned, but I don't remember seeing horns. I'm thinking it was a barred owl with especially dark plumage. I was within grabbing range, and walked around him and...

    Bird Watching!

I could count the wild owls I've seen in my life on one hand. Seeing a snowy owl would be fantastic.
