    Small filing tip

I'd spring for the files, but they'd damned well better learn to sharpen themselves. I got enough going on keeping after the chains I screw up.

I'm a huge fan of Stihl chain. It's worth a premium over over other brands, but my old dealer was list price for everything, so a $35 84dl loop gave pause. I explored other options and settled on Carlton for beater duty, and Stihl for good stuff. My new dealer is much better, and it's only...

The only Chinese chain I've used is Trilink. It looks like saw chain. Looks like someone gave an engineer a verbal description of what a chain should look like, and he did a pretty good job of making it happen. I expect better than "pretty good" for saw chain though. Kind of ugly when you look...

Removable tip is solid, most(all?) others are laminated. That's excluding hardnose bars which I believe will all be solid. Good light bars will be solid, but will have pockets milled out and filled to shave weight. Again, removable tips. I use the hand file thing for the bars, and it seems to...

Depends on what you want to spend time on I guess. I don't mind fooling with bars, and don't really consider it work. I'm less inclined to mess with chainsaw mechanics. I have little doubt I /could/ do it, I just don't want to. My 026 is still in the garage wanting rings(I think). Should be...

Or a good practice platform. Clean up the rails using a dresser, then hammer them back into shape. Use a dime as a gauge so you don't go too far.

Time to rehab the old bar so you have something to swap in to.

That's kinda neat. I wouldn't have a lot of use for it, but I can see how some people would.

Try biltong. It's like jerky, but better. Aldi sells a reasonably priced version.

My dash is full of stuff. Several gloves, small wood treasures I've found on jobs, my boss' sun bonnet... Well the sun hat is currently on the floor. I give him a hard time about it. It has a wide brim, and always falls on the floor. When he's in the truck and it falls off, I say "I've got good...

    Small filing tip

Pics? You're talking about a chainsaw on a stick, right? My preferred option would be filing it in the unit. Clamp the end so the stick isn't flopping around. B&C off, I'd clamp in a vice either bought or made, and file on that.
