There's a million tricks in this work. The worth of any of one is just knowing when best to use it.

Yeah, it's my voice alright Fact, there's over 20 hours of my voice in the Working Climber Video Series. Some have said my voice puts them to sleep. Well, dang, don't try watching all 20 hours at once. Take it in at an hour or two at a time. There's a lot covered.

The foot thing I have to life with. There's no changing it. Now having my arrhythmia stabilized has significantly improved the quality of my life. Got to thank modern medicine. Yeah, B, we're damn lucky to live in this age where such things can be fixed.

That new hip has been treating you pretty good. It's cool how being out of pain can improve the quality of one's life.

11 years, Sean. I can't believe how fast time is passing. I'm a road-kill on the information super-highway.

Thanks, Cory! Hard to believe that vid has been floating around cyberspace for over 10 years now. How time flies.

I couldn't find the rope walker video, but I did find this one. An oldie.

Being phat was the main motivation behind the development of the DLRW.

That will work. Really any similar ascender can work. Getting it setup and adjusted is a matter of trying it out and shortening or lengthening the tether and bungy. And that would have to do mostly with the type of saddle you're using.

That foot/ankle strap will work, Steve. Good find. And if I didn't have a spare pantine in my kit I would have used the basic that is always in may SRT kit.

Actually that's where it came from. The bungy idea has been around for some time in SRT, but using it in double line technique as I demonstrated is the first that I know of. I been fiddling with the idea off and on for several years and just got around to making the video. I use it to limb up...

The hardware store in town has rolls of bungy cord from 1/8th to 1/2 inch in 1/16 inch increments. But the 1/8th is all that's needed. I whipped eyes into the bungy cord with thread. Then used a few wraps of zing-it to interface the pantine to the eye of the bungy. The runner on the bottom...

In the vid, Darin, the bungy cord is 1/8 inch, but not all bungy cord is created equal. In a nutshell I went the smallest, the strongest, and the most stretchy.

Steve, I chose the pantine because it is the lightest grab going and doesn't have the locking function. Easy in and easy out. And too like the pantine itself, the assist of the walker is not PPE. It's just an assist.

Depending on the type of saddle and rope system you use the double line rope walker will have to be tweeked to operate smooth as in the video. It's just minor adjustments for the most part.

    Double Line Rope Walker

I didn't emphasize that the bungey was routed through the ring on my belt. Which keeps the pull on the pantine inline with the running part and keeps it from flipping off. Typical of the pantine. A locking grab could be used but then you lose the ease of disengagement and engagement of the...

    Double Line Rope Walker

Thanks for the tip, Brian. I always wonder how that happens. Imagine me. The rope though was hand coiled prior to the set and the main reason why there were so many hockles in the end. The inherent twist from hand coiling. But your point is right on. Man when I'm coming out of a tree at...

Here's a clip of a double line walking system I tweeked to eliminate the body thrusting. It works pretty well. I'll follow with another clip of using the system during an actual work scenario. <param name="movie"...
