    i only know case hardening from metal work is the term used for a similar thing in woodworking?

    the lucas mill will only cut 20cm above ground so you need to put the logs on cribbing. with heavier logs i will just cut until the mill runs out of room and then will jack up the skin and put cribbing under it.

    started milling some decent sized poplars. mostly 2x4s and 1x5s for various building projects.

    yes, its wonderful for cutting dimensional lumber out of large logs. fun to see the piles of lumber growing with no additional log handling. i dont have the slabbing attachment as im still puzzled what to do with all the slabs i have from chainsaw milling :)

    i milled some 120cm oak and spalted beech yesterday, i am very gratefull that i did‘nt do it with my retired chainsaw mill :)
