I'm not thinking of building one at the moment, I'm pretty swamped as it is. I honestly had no clue how much something like that goes for. It's also one thing to build one for yourself and a whole nother thing to start selling them for profit, and honestly i really don't have a need for one. I...

Yeah, standing dead ash is more than dry enough to just use, further It'll still be aged all spring summer and fall, but this way i know i have good seasoned wood. It seems to me that the ash tree dies from dehydration, and the slow death of it seems to really dry it out even more as all water...

I do have some standing dead ash I'm planning on grabbing. My partner at work has a bunch of dead ones down his hill, which would be a wonderful place to try out my trailer as a yarder. That way i got another pro rigger to help me run it the first time, and we'll both be helping each other out...

I finished the hardwoods in my burn piles and was starting to cut up a blue spruce i did last year when my neighbor said i could cut whatever on his. He has several downed locusts that have been there for years, so I'm gonna make it this winter  73 out today, definitely not normal

Mix it with some quicker burning stuff, it'll help get stuff going. Locust is kinda like coal, it takes a bit to get going and needs air, but can put out full heat for a long time.

It's ugly, but it works great. Just cut and split up some more locust, around 14 inch or so by 6 feet. Just lift and gently guide it and the stuff explodes. 2 of these sleds is a days burning, didn't take 10 min with a battery saw and the maul. Took me longer to shovel it all out

The one i have is a 12 pounder, and was recently made, so it's likely around 15 pounds with the longer handle. It's crude but is what i have, so it'll do. If i was so inclined one of my best friends lives next door and has an awesome splitter with a 4 way wedge, i just haven't had the need yet...

No but i will, it took literally 1 rod. I think i just used 1 1/4" pipe, which fits over 1 inch pipe pretty well (the handle is 1" heavy wall pipe, i think it's more than 80 but I'll have to mic it). I'm thinking i might drop the handle part back down to 1", the 1.25 is a bit much swinging but i...

Yeah it sucks  I'm crawling by too, throwing the back out put me behind so I'm gonna have to do some winter wonderland shit in a week or so  a smart man would have foreseen the wife randomly wanting an insert in the fall and would have wood all ready to go, but I'm not a smart man...

I can't wait til i can have my kids do stuff for me, while i watch and drink beer. Logs are still just a bit too heavy for them, but we're getting close. Boy keeps eating like he does next year he'll be ready!
