Bailey's is running a 20% off sale on select Husqvarna chainsaws. I have heard rumors this is the last year for the 395XP and my old one was my favorite saw of all time. So I finally pulled the trigger and got it today. I put it together and made one test cut, this thing rips! The new X-Cut...

And as far as cost, all those who think it is too expensive just think about how much a great climbing saw will generate you in income PER DAY and then multiply that out by how many days of service you can expect to get out of a premium saw. The $600 buy in is nothing compared to what it will...

Best lightweight climbing saw I've ever used is the Stihl MS150. They get stronger with use, as the engine breaks in and the compression climbs. I think of mine as my 'light saber'.

That's typical for most of us tree whores, except the ballsy loggers out on the West Coast dealing with 8'-10' diameter redwoods.

Yes, the trailer is stout. He's not talking about the trailer, he's talking about the two bolts connecting the coupler to the trailer tongue. And yes, I have had one of those bolts fail on my trailer before. It was not fun. Nobody is trying to pick on you or put down your equipment, merely...

Been working on the new dump truck this week. I was worried it wasn't going to be able to dump as much as my old truck due to the lower positioning of the lift assembly (less leverage) and it sounded weak compared to the other truck. So I picked up a load of gravel this morning for my driveway...

We had two members here sustain crippling toe/foot injuries (Butch and Gerry) and neither one would have been prevented by steel toe boots. I ran saws for almost 40 years and never wore a pair of steel toed boots in my life. I also never had any chainsaw injuries to my legs or feet, just hands...

Unless you're cutting a tree over 12' across, the shorter bar will be faster. 6' bars are for West coast redwoods.

That's why avoid saw shops. I always end up buying all that useless crap next to the counter by the register. That stuff adds up and can get expensive!

Well since nobody else is buying stuff this week I get to hog the page!!!!!! I picked up my new truck today and towed my pickup home from West Palm Beach. About 190 miles each way. The new truck is running great with the exception of a slight pull to the right, a tire that is out of round and...

I found the auction page for the truck I just agreed to buy. The dealer got a bargain, but I doubt I could have restored it for much less. He paid just under $5k for it. https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=930&acctid=19267 I have already bought mud flaps, a fire extinguisher...

Also, it is probably the ugliest front end of any truck produced by Ford with the possible exception of the 87-91 F150 series with the massive 'bug eyes' headlights.

I know many of you figured I could hold out for at least a year with my work truck, but I couldn't. My 2005 F350 gets 5.5 mpg with the underpowered 5.4. I dumped way too much money into it and got it working great for what it is, but my main contractor needs a chip truck and refuses to buy one...

Big Tex makes nice trailers, with one or two minor deficiencies. A buddy has that same style trailer about 4-5 years old. The pins securing the locking bars to the ramps and trailer frame broke off from vibration and now they use a ratchet strap to hold the ramps down. He said his next one will...

I found the same issue with my Carhartt work t shirts. They smell fine when you put them on but once you start to sweat a little it activates the old sweat trapped in the fibers and they stink like crazy. I found some colors are worse, I had to throw away all my red ones.
