Thanks, pantheraba - the cord is entirely there to keep the krab and ring together only. The ring does the redirect. But you're kind of right; if my redirect fails them I am in serious trouble, cord or no cord.

40mm DMM anchor ring & XSRE Fiori SRT redirect. Spliced with type III gutted paracord. Stitched with 3 running and 3 blind stitches.

Thanks, flushcut. I'm getting better with age. Thanks, biggun. I hollowed out the rope and then performed hollow braid splices with a tapered crossover in the middle. Thank you, Tommy_B. Thanks you, Peter - I kind of lost interest in the arb forums for a bit. But my splicing's picking up...
