Pretty unique design Mellow. Does the short rib affect your sight picture with the barrel extensions? Although I'm not as big a bird hunter as I used to be, the 870 is the only scattergun I've hunted with for several years. Choke tubes have been a game changer as far as shotguns go.

Sure is Stephen, felt recoil/muzzle jump is supposed to be less because of the lower position of the barrel. Makes sense.

Jim, does that kind of velocity shorten barrel life to any degree? I remember hearing about .220 Swift barrels burning out pretty quickly but I think velocity was at or above 4,000. That's a Chiapa Rhino I believe Butch, .357 mag most likely.

Good looking rig Evan. 640 yards is a loooong shot. It takes a fine rifle, optics and weather to make that happen. I've got a friend who is building them who wants to do a swap for a Colt single action army revolver that I own. I'm pondering it but I think the pistol might be worth a little more.
