My partner took a pic of this crazy 90 degree sand pine with the sun behind it. It was just as hot as the sun makes it look. We had already taken one off the roof after Irma and the homeowner wanted four more around the house gone. Why two were still standing is beyond me.

That's a pretty epic strike for sure Scott. Even though Florida gets the most strikes in the U.S., I've never seen anything even close to that intense.

As a matter of fact, the common name for them Jed is jelly palms. I like the fruit raw (when it's ripe), it's got a really good flavor.
