Runs great, really soft catch. Boot's are the Drayer Tango II's from Wesspur. They're kind of like approach shoes, but they've held up really well, and are good on hooks. Had them a couple years now.

I've never done any gym climbing. Little bit of rock, but never any ice. Seems like some of the skills will transfer, but I'm really looking forward to learning a new way to climb on a different kind of spikes. :)

I'm going to teach myself to ice climb this winter. The area I'm in is famous for it, and I've always wanted to give it a shot. Figure I can top rope myself out of just about anything while learning, so why not. 8)

Me too Bermy, I think it feels very secure. It wasn't a big change from the Wrench actually. The Akimbo has a smaller sweet spot in the engagement vs a hitch. Smaller, but it's there. One handing took some getting used to. Haha

Yeah, it was that little bearing that holds the nose of the pinion gear in place. At least three of the rollers were missing out of what was left of the cage when I first opened it up. It's crazy they could come out and not destroy the gears. . .

Thanks Rich. It started making a weird noise, I couldn't ignore it! haha. There was a high pitch squeal, which I presume was this little bearing seizing up, which kind of faded away as the hill topped out, then whenever I'd let off the gas and coast it was grumbling. . . So I'm thinking...

Rear end on the dump truck started making a grinding noise when coasting after climbing a steep hill with the chippy in tow and loaded to the gills. After a bit of internet knowledge-mining I had it narrowed down to the pinion bearings, hopefully just the pilot, since everything still felt dead...

Thanks guys. Yeah Jim, he's a mutt. Unknown lineage. Very similar to the Tennessee Treeing Brindle dogs, but that's pretty damn specific for a shelter mutt. . . We're working on staying in the back of the truck this week ;) Cheers

I got a new dog guys! His name is Ivan and he's a 7 month old rescue. Total sweetheart. Basically a big puppy at this point. haha Not sure what he is, but he's brindled as could be. Looks like Viet Nam spec-ops cammo. Really a neat coat.

Live healthy trees are such a luxury to work on. . . I tore apart an elm today after work. Started to rain. Still fun :)
