I did not feel too heebie jeebie with the right crew with a rope puller pull or throwing it with the favor. Finesse, not force. But, add a mini skid or skid steer, loader, now youre talking heebie jeebie. Or crispy dead. Sigh of relief when that hits ground and nothing fails. Strapped and...

I have Never wrecked a rope on a block. Nor has the bend radius been an issue. I have also rigged right through a crab and never ruined a rope. You rig weights accourdingly. Too much weight on too tight a bend will damage or break a rope. Rings can easily glaze a rope if run fast with large...

For this job, absolutely. However. 65 plusfooter would have set up on the first group of trees better. The road shoulder was soft as all get out. Could have used the paved encroachment with that little bit of extra reach.

I have lift envy. Rigged down some goofy live oaks and chop chop some dead wood from a lift today as well my friend. 6 hours. More to come I am sure. Only all I had at my disposal was a 50' JLG. :P

Yeah, the wind blown sand can be misery. I did some work in a place called Stevenson down in the valley. Sand blows right into the homes. every nook and cranny. Pruning some large mulberrys. Well. That sucked. "why the hell is my saw dulling up here? Maybe wire or something?" Oh no. Sand in the...

Fixing your gullets also helps move the chips. That little bump between the raker and tooth is more important than most people realize. You find out about that when you do square grind. Most the time on round file, the file handles it if you go deep enough into the tooth.

Couple pics from the HO yesterday. Taking hangers out over a parking area equipped with yard art. They have like seven humming bird feeders on that side of the house. So I am regularly buzzed by and inspected by hummers all day...

Both Gord and Reg have good success with a grapnel. A ball at the top where your rope ties in at helps it from getting stuck. Here is classic Gord, windfirming and traversing. Grapnel action at about 4:30.
