Per the above post, my mig can run perfectly fine 180 amps on a shit 100 ft extension cord 115v 15A. Onboard batteries, that's what set it apart from the crowd. Definitely paid a bit for that but don't regret it. Can do cordless for a short repair.

I just did a quick read and a question: is it true that chlorinated brake cleaner stays in the porosity or surface of metal you might intend to weld, with said bad results? Would time clear the metal of any embedded cleaner? Man, sorry to hear. Best recovery.

Nothing cries out used/abused badge of honour like sheet metal that's banged out and deformed but not broken. Maybe put floor panel sheet in not too heavy but enough not to break. Not sure if you want to maintain ability to slide stuff out of the rig, but a floor would help. Or maybe no floor...
