    Wall of Shame: Wannabe Experts

There is definitely a long leader pulling back and toward the camera. There's front weight, too. Even if fully neutral, a 1/3 depth hinge is way ahead of the COG. Oak is heavy and hard to bend.

Wish there was a follow up. Maybe local a news story. Actually, no. I hope it wasn't newsworthy.

Doing that type of thing to a criminal is a way to lose a lot of windows or worse.

When it falls, the far, backleaning lead is more visible. I'm looking at it all on a phone.

Is the big bucket truck pulling the medium truck? Anyone zoom in on the knot/ mess? Looks like they could have improved their rope angle and rope height.

I don't know the lean. I see a potential for a strong back leaner or a reasonable neutral or front leaner. Probably not a front leaner (bet money). Any rope breaking and tree rocking back could cause failure. If they had a bad spot or a knot, it could be easy to break a rope. We broke a...

    New pull start handles

If you need more pull than your hands allow and/ or are trying to reduce finger strain, a weight lifting strap might help for starting. They choke on a lifter's wrist with a girth hitch, then are wrapped around the bar so the lifter's fingers pinch the strap to the bar, transferring some force...

To be clear, how do you all read the weight distribution of That tree? Not How does one read the weight distributing of A tree?

I mentioned something you may or may not have read...basket-ing the rope through a crotch and portawrapping both legs, together, way more than doubles the strength of a single-leg line with a knotted termination. A tensionless hitch is better than a R-Bowline, but requires up-close setting, not...

Double-bagging!! You end up with a weight in the middle of the TL, and able to control the weight from 2 sides instead of 1.

I'm no sling maker. Cable swages that I'm used to have 2 holes for the cable and a compression clamp. I watched them make an eye and eye for me, but can't remember is it was untwisted, then retwisted strands for the eye, then fit with the compression fitting. I don't have my truck here to look.

How was your hinge thickness, shape, species and wood quality? Did the hinge rip from lifting instead of rotation?

    Exercise

Offset weights require much greater core stabilization to prevent spinal bending compared to a uniformly loaded backpack.

Looks like the Madsen's catalog only has 12" long at 8% slope as they're most powerful wedge. Idk if that was our biggest size at St Parks. My boss used to call that biggest the 'tongue' for unknown reason. Might have only been 12". Send at least as long as my 13" boot. 15 years ago. Fuzzy...
