Sean..... We already do injections. We have 2 Arbor Jet TreeIV systems, a QuickJet, and are possibly going to buy a Quick Jet Air. About 25% of our total business is plant health care. That's also why it takes us 4 years to put 900 hours on our chipper. We spend a lot of time doing other things...
We're not wanting to turn into a removal company at all. I am just afraid that people will stop spending money on tree maintenance because they all have to spend their money on tree removals. That's exactly what happened around here during the recession. During the recession we were probably...
We use Amsoil in all of our trucks and equipment..... so take that for what it's worth. Everything gets greased very regularly and we change oil and filter of all kinds well before the manufacturer recommends.
Our loader was one of the best purchases that we have ever made. It's not the...
Had it for 4 years now.
Bought it new.

We really do try to baby it. It's good to hear that most of you seem to think there should be plenty of life left in it.
Hahaha..... I was waiting for the first Vermeer comment. It took longer than I thought. I have to believe that the engineers at Kohler and Vermeer must have designed these products for a certain number of hours. IDK, maybe it doesn't work that way.
I am wondering what you all think is a realistic useful life of my 9" Vermeer BC900 with a 35-40hp Kohler gas engine? Ours has almost 900 hours on it currently and is running just fine. We are may think about buying a new chipper in the next year or so unless we can expect to get 2000 hours...
Found this while doing some research. Not sure it's what I want, but it may work for someone. Seems fast too.

I have contacted Switch N Go and they will put the bodies on any one ton or bigger. I really like the size and capacity of our 550 so I'd probably stick with that size. I have not looked at how much weight we'd be able to haul with that set up but I'm guessing it would be sufficient.

Good points and we have discussed that option too. I would love to know how much it costs to swap bodies like that.

I'm figuring that the 550 will be the lightest and I'm totally fine with that. I was just wondering what others have used or have seen. The other option is to get a roll off dump trailer and a 350 or 450 to haul it with.
Hi all.....it's that time of year again where I start freaking out about taxes and how to lower what I owe for next year. Every year we buy something new to try and keep our stuff all looking good and keep adding expenses. The problem is that I kind of ran out of things that we want and next...
We use canola oil when cutting ice fishing holes up here.
A few weeks ago we were up at our cottage by Mountain and wanted to see how thick the ice was. I didn't have my saw but we used my neighbor's with bar oil..... It worked fine and didn't leave any noticeable slick.

If Graeme ever came to the Midwest to speak I'd do just about anything to attend..... Same with Jerry for that matter. Those guys have soooooo much tree knowledge it's just crazy.

Well we got it running very fast this morning. Unfortunately it wasn't a great test of the heater because it ended up not getting as cold as it was supposed to. It was about 15 degrees when we started work. I just blew the torpedo heater towards the carb and put a tarp over the entire engine. It...
