That thing is a beast. I was amazed how quick he moved the logs to the road. I can work the logs up easily as he moves them for load out...great for a dude who is only 10 weeks after a total knee replacement! The track grousers tear the crap out of the road so we'll have some smoothing to do...

I believe excavators are one of the most important and coolest achievements of mankind. Yes, one of many astounding and important inventions, but critical to daily life as we currently know it. The pyramids were built without them (somehow), and lots of ridiculously large redwoods were logged...

Someone just cut the tree down towards the road and took the top portion. Left the 35 foot butt log. I was surprised it wasn't poached long ago but it was pretty well hidden in the brush.

The guy that hacked that tree down apparently ages ago, he gutted the hinge nicely but I wonder if the Dutchman was intentional or not, or perhaps it was unintentional but he spotted it and decided it was inconsequential so he didn't bother correcting it by opening the face

This log was a salvage that I found. Really nice log with minimal heart rot.
