Mostly a pop and then slack. I know ropes can store an awful lot of energy, but every one I've ever broken has been remarkably un-eventful, so far as ropes whipping around and such. Steel cable is another matter entirely, as we all know. Back when my dad was driving tow trucks and pulling...

How often do arb ropes break (depends on the dummy overloading them, I know), and what do they do when they break?

timing is bad but between some family stuff (mostly good) and some injuries/health issues I'm just not fit to do tree work much longer, I'm working part time at the moment, 2-4 hours a day is all I have in me before I'm passing out, diet is good, don't really do soda or energy drinks, 1 or 2...

But are you not getting out of tree work, as of recent posts from you? That rig is great, too bad on your timing.

as far as weight goes, you'd never overload the trailer with brush, but I load more wood in there than brush usually and that gets trucks overweight in a hurry, I had 12,000 pounds of wood on the flatbed last week and it didn't even fill the bed up more than half the height of the bulkhead in...

first job done! doing the math, between truck and trailer I can have upto about 22,000 pounds of tree onboard without using my 10% overweight allowance not bad, not bad, obviously have to balance the weight correctly but those are some nice numbers

not as much as I would like, but it is an area with lots of pine forest a few hours away from Ft Bragg NC so I'm sure I can find something if I know the right people I'd rather run a feller buncher than run most anything else, but if I don't find a job doing that then I can always get into...
