    How'd it go today?

I hate neighbors, either the customer wants the neighbor to pay, or the neighbor gets pissy about trees that aren't even theirs, had one call the cops on me last year and threaten to shoot me over a trim job, shoulda seen the look on his face when I said I'd call them for him because I've got...

Back to work today. Three big ass white pines. Estimator missed that the septic was close. Made access a pain. Also neighbor was not happy that we were taking her trees down. Property pins were clearly marked and clearly not hers. To make things better the temps dropped and it snowed all damn...

    How'd it go today?

Last week, my baby chipper spilled all its hydraulique oil, luckily on some crappy grass instead of the paved alley. It seems that the hydro oil filter on the return line got clogged, the pressure built up behind it and its gasket gave up. That surprised me because I replaced the filter not so...

I have been consistently impressed/frustrated by how strong ironbark is and how much wedge force is required.

Russian joke: "Have you worked in the Sahara Desert (in this case, the Mojave Desert) ?Yes, of course! But there are no trees in that desert! That's why there are no trees there, because I worked there!":)

That would have been more appropriate for this task as well :). My personally owned gear is much lighter than what I had to call on in my working life...I was bringing a knife to a gunfight with this job :D. Burned up a couple of prusiks and glazed the main line when the prusiks slipped a bit...

    Bandit 250XP with a cummins!

especially the pre emissions stuff! only times its ever let me down was a tiny coolant line off the water pump, job 1 of the day was fine, parked at job 2 and it was dripping, replaced the hose and it ran fine, the other time was blowing a hydraulic hose, which is why all the high pressure hoses...

Euc doesn’t hinge. I told him not to yank it with his big old tractor, break my rope, and lose it backwards in the house, so no momentum. Note the drift from the face. Maybe if I had left a thicker hinge, bigger gap face, and back cut in the center of the face elevation wise.

Cool. Splits pinch.😆 Just had a go round with a junk paperbark euc yesterday. I like MA setups. Always wanted to get a rope and pulley setup, mine are all winch and cable and 20lbs each 😆. But that seems to be appropriate for the stuff I deal with.

Here are some pics. We have started working on it...I was able to buck and flop the root plate back in place, more or less. I ran out of steam and daylight on Saturday, left the thing tensioned and I felt like it was getting fairly close to tipping point. Woke up the next morning to see it...

My first Glock was a G22. They may not be the most aesthetic handgun out there, but they are arguably the most reliable. It’s an absolute shame to see them cave in to political pressure.

Took it easy today other than a couple more small loads. Nice Mesquite log. Looked at this again. They want the dead out and reduction.

I often have to pack a saw in over a mile to clear trail. It was much easier to use my homemade pack frame. This is what it was for: I made it from my old BR400. 25 years ago, it was the top Stihl blower.
