One of my favorite movies, next to The mountain men. Good find Butch! I lived in Leadville for six months and never knew that.

Wild story. I wonder what the logic behind eating the Indian livers was? Didn't one of the members of the band, 'Alabama', want to be a mountain man? I think he got to looking a bit unkempt, so they kicked him out of the group. He probably had enough money by then to be a rich mountain man.

me too! as i recall there was almost no dialog in the film, and certainly no liver eating. i had no idea it was based on a real person.
