Just put up this old vid on fixing misplanted trees fwiw. Are these donuts common in your area? does anyone else work with them?

Those clumps of roots that you cut and put on the outside of the ring still help the tree? Howso? They reattach, somehow?

No Butch, they decompose and add to the soil long term, in the short term they keep the soil porous.

Guy, is that site local enough to do a follow up video?

Excellent video and information treelooker, thanks for putting it up.

If anyone doing root pruning on big roots needs more than an axe and sledgehammer I have had great results with the Oregon Power Sharp set up on an old saw. The PS makes it possible to go from dull and not cutting well to sharp again in a few moments.

Closer to the earth closer to god.
Well done!
I like two tine gdn fork and flat steel pry bar and the pulaski.
Had to do over 400 trees this year, most all volcano mulched with ties
And burlap still in place went thru four employees and in the end had more than half
To do by myself.
Still pretty feel good work knowing you did good service for the tree and ho.

Cheers
