i can understand that. I take it that you are still pretty young. Our crew with the crane guy has been together unbroken for the twelve years since I hooked up with him, and we are aging, with two guys getting social security as well. I won't be long for being there myself. I can't say that some guys aren't better at doing certain things than others (leave the big saws to me!), but switching around tasks when necessary makes for a real smooth flow of things, and still guys are observant and want to get better wherever possible. I can't say that there still isn't a slight edge of competitiveness, but nothing to interfere with the excellent atmosphere we have going. Why just yesterday I saw two guys laughing and talking about me, so I politely suggested to them where they could kiss it, ha! New guys that have experience that sometimes will help out, I notice that they might not like to get suggestions for improvement, with our main crew it is something that we can talk about with ease during breaks. We are the fastest around without a doubt, individuals but a prideful group. When you get older, it is good to find ways to compensate if you want to stay with the work, and multi tasking fits in well. One fellow isn't in all that great of health and can't string days together. Still a valued member however, and he knows we will cover for him if he gets overly fatigued come later in the day or whatever. I get a kick out of watching him still bust A, obviously he still likes doing it. Anyway, maybe something to keep in mind twenty or thirty years from now if still in the trade.
