Thought I would put this out there as I believe it could be a good tool to help us aging Tree Guys keep on going physically. So about 5 years ago I became interested in infra red LED therapy which NASA did a bunch of research on and concluded that it expediated healing measurably. So this year I learned that they are now using lasers instead of LEDs which further increased the efficacy. Sam my wife has had pain issues for years with her neck and has seen many doctors to no avail, I have reocuring lower back issues and the usual joint over use issues we all deal with. So after much scouting around for an affordable cold laser I finally came across this on ebay......

So far 3 people and I have used the laser and we have all experienced marked improvements to our conditions. Sams neck which has been bad for about 10 years is much better than it has been in years with virtually no pain, the muscles are still tight and her left shoulder is always higher than the other, after only 10 days I think this is HUGE. My back pain is gone but in fairness it does come and go.

There are no know side effects to cold lasers so any one suffering from chronic issues I would highly recommend this option.

A buddy of mine who has had 2 back surgeries and is on pain meds constantly is coming over this evening to try it so I will report back as to his experience.

I am watching closely. I have Psoriatic Arthritis in most of my joints, hands shoulders and knees mostly. The injection I take every two weeks is like a miracle cure, but is destined to stop working.

Huge thread, thanks Paul! More of my body needs it than doesn't need it:lol:

Study at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore showed short term benefits for those with arthritis, but alas, like many arthritis modalities, it doesn't continue to work...

Some of the studies on cold laser therapy (LLLT) are noted in abstract form on this page:

There is a huge range of prices, laser strength in the units on eBay; $79 to $8,000+ (yikes!)

Best rated unit on amazon.com:

The device listed on Amazon is not a laser but a LED. Most of the stuff I have read says the best results were found from lasers with a wave length of about 810nm (cannt remember exact number).
