Fishing 2014

That's a pretty unique idea with the barge Jay. I've heard of people smoking bonito but I've never tried it, you're right that's one bloody, oily fish. The bride and I ventured out in the bay Sunday afternoon and caught these mullet, flounder, snapper and speckled trout. We saw a couple of big bull sharks in very shallow water at Dog Island, probably feeding on stingrays. I did smoke those mullet today and they are awesome, if I do say so myself.

At least once the barge broke it's anchorage in a heavier sea, maybe that is why they stopped having it. They wouldn't take you out there on rough days. No rogue waves that I can recall. :O

I cook me some fish in my wood stove at the shop sometimes. Shut it down and get the smokey. Yummy...

That must be cool seeing bull sharks, knowing how formidable they are. Were they big?

Nice bigmouth the pup caught on the Chick river last Saturday...

He would rather fish for Snakeheads Jim. They'll fight like a bull all the way to the boat and try to eat ya... lol
