The RIP Thread...

Forty-eight days and ten hours after Dad died Mom simply let go of this realm...
... she had no drive to go on after her husband of 65 years died.
Even the anchor of 7 children, 17 grandchildren and one granddaughter could not root her here.
R.I.P. Mom...

My condolences Patrick. Some people mean the world to others. It sounds like your folks were two of them.

Hope she went peacefully, and with a sense of going to a better place, or contentment with her time is she doesn't. Before my birth, my grandfather went down in the driveway of a heart attack, grandmother went two days later. Sometimes it may be best, even if we want to hold on. A sign of their love being so strong, it seems.Rest in Peace.

I try to hold onto not being sad for no longer having something important, but being happy for it to have been so important for so long.

Once again scanning photos, writing remembrances, and thinking of Mom's grit, determination, hard work, caring, baking, canning, and how much she loved children.

And that reminded me of this great song by Greg Brown, "Canned Goods"...
...17 grandchildren and a great granddaughter will know the love canned up in this song's theme, because they knew their grandma:

Here's another Grandma song. I know it wasn't your Grandma, but thanks for the memories Pat.

Must be a blessed place to still have both parents at 57 yrs old.

I hope that peace and love fill the void left in your family.

They're dropping like flies lately, most of you wouldn't know all of them.:(

Hahaha fuckin Rick! I loved The Young Ones in college. Neil Rick Vivian and Mike certainly had some adventures. I just had one of the completion vids out for the kids a wk or two ago. I guess I forgot that The Young Ones isn't for toddlers.
